My goal as a licensed professional counselor and consultant is to provide my clients with a space where they can explore their past experiences, grow in curiosity and insight, and learn to adapt effectively in the midst of life’s challenges. I am especially interested in partnering with individuals, couples, and families who feel stuck and are struggling to move forward from past traumas, learning to manage intense relationship anxiety, navigating challenging family dynamics, exploring their sense of self, and recovering from sexual abuse.

As a counter-trafficking professional, I also have over twelve years of experience specializing in recovery work with women, nonbinary persons, and minors who have been sex trafficked in the USA and abroad. My experience involves partnering with safehouses to train staff and create curriculum, providing “pay what you can afford” counseling services to survivors in need, supporting survivors through legal and judicial processes, and conducting academic research on human trafficking in America.

My clinical work utilizes a counseling approach that is grounded in Bowen Family Systems Theory and informed by trauma-sensitive principles. This approach allows me to understand my clients within the context of their family systems and allows me to prioritize their safety and autonomy as they work toward understanding their relational dynamics with others and how they want to define themselves in those relationships. During sessions you can expect me to ask lots of open-ended questions, draw and explain concepts on my whiteboard, and listen intently when you share your thoughts and feelings. My sessions involve a mixture of laugher and playfulness, deep and serious reflection, honest feedback and direct challenges, and ample space for you to freely express your thoughts and feelings without judgment or shame.

I look forward to supporting you through this work as you choose to take the next step toward finding your momentum and creating lasting and meaningful change!
